Message from the Principal (Nursing)

Dear Students,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the School and College of Nursing, under NEMCARE Group of Institutions (NGI). We offer GNM and B.Sc. Nursing programs.

The School of Nursing was established in 2010 and has been recognized by Indian Nursing council (INC), Assam Nurses’ Midwives’ and Health Visitors’ Council (ANC) and approved by Govt of Assam.

The College of Nursing was established in 2017. The College has been accredited and approved to Indian Nursing council (INC), Assam Nurses’ Midwives’ and Health Visitors’ Council (ANC), Govt of Assam and is affiliated to Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS).

Our Nursing institutions are equipped with qualified and competent teachers, good physical infrastructure, Library and our students get opportunity for clinical learning in parent hospital with 300 beds and other affiliated Government and Private Hospitals.

Our nursing institutions primarily focus on making our students a good human being and also a successful professional through a strategic teaching of both theoretical and practical aspects during the course of education.

We strive to provide ample opportunity to every student for all-round growth and development through an integrated structure of curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities.

We feel proud to share that many of our students, who have completed their GNM course from our School of Nursing are now occupying various positions in several renowned Government and Private Organisations of Assam and outside Assam.

  • Minimum education eligibility criteria for admission to GNM:
10+2 with 40% marks from any recognized board. However Science is preferable

Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government.

Registered ANM

10+2 vocational ANM course from the school recognized by Indian Nursing Council

10+2 Health care Science — Vocational stream from a recognized CBSE board/ State /Centre

  • Students should be medically fit.
  • Minimum age for admission will be 17 years. (As on 31st December of the year) The upper age limit is 35 yrs. For ANM/for LHV, there is no age bar.
  • For disabled candidates: 3% Disability reservation to be considered with a disability of locomotors to the tune of 40% to 50% of the lower extremity and other eligibility criteria with regard to age and qualification will be same as prescribed for each nursing programme.

Note: A committee to be formed consisting of medical officer authorized by medical board of state government and a nursing expert in the panel which may decide whether the candidates have the disability of locomotors of40% to 50%.

  • Any other quotas as per the State Govt. under the reservation policy.
    Note: Quotas shall be applicable within the sanctioned number of the seats sanctioned and not above it.
  • Selection Procedure: A candidate has to go through a selection process comprising of a written test and viva-voice.

RESEARCH

Publications play a vital role in university’s ranking and its reputation. The published material pursues further research activities and achieves credit and citations.

PUBLICATIONS

Publication of research work in the form of books, monographs, articles & research papers and other original works are means by which researchers communicate scholarly outcome and build their reputation among their peers. Publication is a primary basis on which researchers are evaluated for various incentives including employment, promotion and tenure. These publications contribute significantly towards citation of new knowledge
