The National Conference, titled "North East India's Traditional Wisdoms: Bridging the Past and Present through Knowledge Systems, Health Practices, Agriculture, Art, and Conservation," took place at NGI Guwahati from February 23-24, 2024. Organized by NEMCARE Group of Institutions in collaboration with RIWATCH and APTI Assam, the event aimed to explore and preserve the traditional wisdom of North East India. The inauguration, graced by Chief Guest Dr. Dinesh Baishya and Special Guest Sri Vijay Swami, featured the lighting of the lamp and Saraswati Vandana. The opening speeches by Dr. Bhargab Jyoti Sahariah and Dr. Hitesh Baruah emphasized the synergy between APTI and RIWATCH. Keynote speaker Prof. Dipak Jyoti Baruah eloquently addressed the seamless connection between tradition and modernity. Day 1 continued with insightful talks by Dr. Pranab Jyoti Das and Dr. Biswajyoti Bora, followed by a traditional attire showcase by NGI students. Day 2 delved into global perspectives on traditional knowledge, with Sri Vijay Swami and Dr. Pankaj Protim Bordoloi sharing their expertise. The valedictory session, featuring Dr. Numal Momin, praised the seminar's objectives. Guest of Honor awards were presented to Dr. Pankaj Protim Bordoloi, Col. Omkar Singh, and Sri Vijay Swami. Certificates and awards were distributed to recognize outstanding contributions. The conveyor, Dr. Apurba Talukdar, summarized the two-day symphony, expressing gratitude and concluding remarks by key speakers. The National Seminar successfully celebrated North East India's profound wisdom, leaving participants inspired to bridge the past and present for a vibrant future.
