What Is Ragging?

Ragging is any conduct of senior student(s) whether by words spoken or written or by any act which involves abuse, humiliation or harassment of new entrants or junior students thus causing physical or psychological harm. It also includes misconduct of senior student(s) to show superiority over any fresher or any other student, taking illicit financial help, any other such incident.

Objectives

Anti-Ragging Committee will establish a Ragging Free Environment in the college campus. Anti-Ragging Committee will comprise of Anti-Ragging Squad which will work under the Supervision of Anti Ragging Committee and will engage themselves in conducting visit to places like Hostels, Buses, Canteens, Classrooms and other places of student gathering. Anti-Ragging Committee will be involved in designing strategies and action plan for curbing the Menace of Ragging in the college by adopting array of activities.

Responsibilities of Anti Ragging Squad :

1. Maintaining a Ragging Free Campus

2. Maintaining a vigil over the students activities

3. Educate the students about menace of Ragging and related punishments

4. Report to the Anti-Ragging Committee over any incident

Punishment

As per the order of Supreme Court of India and subsequent Notification from University Grants Commission (UGC), Ragging is a punishable offence. The offender will have to appear in front of the Anti-Ragging Committee and the decision taken by the Anti-Ragging Committee will be final and shall be abided by the offender under any circumstances.
